(WatchBlog McGee is a fictionalized blogger but reports on actual, flesh and bone, real-life fantasy football leagues. This year, he is embedded deep in the CFFFL, and will be periodically blogging on league matters.)
WatchBlog here again. Well the CFFFL is past the regular season midpoint. Let’s get to it.
Hunter catches some Puppies
The Cousins went into Monday night needing a miracle 55 point performance from their kicker to avoid their second loss in two weeks. Instead, their kicker got them a less than miraculous 1. The Cousins are now in a 4 way tie for the 3rd best record in the league, but still sit at 2nd in the 5CD. They will have a challenge in week 8 against Lauren “I drafted two cute TEs, but too bad they share a BYE week - oops!” Cook’s Hottez as Gary “Unka-G deserves your best effort” Cook will be without standout QB Aaron Rodgers. Meanwhile, the Hunters have a razor thin overall point advantage over the Puppies, and will have to continue to win and score big points to stay ranked number 1 in the CFFFL. While the Hunters draw the 9th ranked PlowBoys in week 8, they will face them without stud RB Matt Forte. If new PlowBoys’ RB DeMarco Murray puts up another stellar performance like he did in week 7, Amanda “I made BYE week adjustments for nothing?”Cook’s stay atop the CFFFL might be short lived.
What do you mean no Stat Corrections for week 7?
Whenever a CFFFL game is won by only a couple of points, WatchBlog eagerly awaits the stat corrections to see if a CFFFL team will be robbed of the victory by a statistician. While stat corrections have been made every week but one going into week 7, it appears none are coming, and the 47ers’ 1.32 point victory over the Leftovers will stand. The victory creates a logjam for the 3rd best record in the CFFFL between 4 teams, including the 47ers and Leftovers. Despite the 4-3 record, the Leftovers are the highest scoring team in the league, and will be favored to hand the Puppies their 2nd loss in a row when those two teams face off again in week 8. Stacy “explain how to ‘lose’ to me” Cook is reportedly seeking a to hire a loser tutor. As for the 47ers, their slim victory is their 3rd win in a row, and makes them the 2nd hottest team in the CFFFL behind the Hunters. The win also improved their ranking to 4th, as they passed the Cousins due to a higher point total. Week 8 matches them up against Easily Offensive, which has been Easily Beatable by everyone in the league not related to some named Mose.
Mid-Season Report Card
As the CFFFL is more than halfway through the regular season, it is time for the WatchBlog Mid-Season Report Card. Look for it in the coming days.
