Issue 13 - 2011

(WatchBlog McGee is a fictionalized blogger but reports on actual, flesh and bone, real-life fantasy football leagues.  This year, he is embedded deep in the CFFFL, and will be periodically blogging on league matters.)

WatchBlog here again.  3 early games are final.  Let’s get to it.

Nothing’s more Offensive than a Ginger Hater

Just as the Offensives have had the Cousins’ number in this CFFFL season, the Hottez have been just as dominant over the Offensives and are now 2 and 0 against them.  It was only the Hottez’s 3rd win of the season, but it was important as it means they will jump to 7th in the CFFFL, 1 spot from the playoffs.  Lauren “McGee sounds like a redhead’s name” Cook seemed unstable in her pre-game comments, and said her key roster moves were motivated by “all that smack talk” from this blogger.  Offensives’ manager David “I really wish this WatchBlog character would shut the McGahee up...” Cook could not be reached for comment.

DeMarco!  Polo!

One of the most dominating running performances of the day was seen from the PlowBoys’ bench in newly added DeMarco Murray.  Luckily for the PlowBoys, the 31+ point performance by Murray was not needed to pull out a win over the newly constituted Honey Badger.  The Badger may crawl back into his hole after his effort to field a complete week 7 team was met with the customary Badger loss.  The win means the PlowBoys will stay one place out of last, and ahead of Andy “I stopped studying for midterms for this?” Cook’s Honey Badger, who will remain the only winless CFFFL team for yet another week.

Cute Little Lions

The Lions scored 82.34 points in week 4 against the Cute Little Puppies, and lost by over 21 points.  By contrast, in week 7, the Lions only scored 78.20 points, but this time beat the Cute Little Puppies by over 26.  The Puppies had by far their worst offensive point output of the year, and were actually the lowest scoring team of the weekend.  Not only did the loss knock the Puppies from the throne of the unbeatens, but it will also knock them down to the 2nd ranked CFFFL team behind the Quail Hunters (barring a unprecedented 55 point kicking performance by Billy Cundiff in the ongoing Hunters’ game.)  Stacy “I don’t think fantasy football is fun anymore” Cook blamed the loss on injuries, and is reportedly looking for a badger hole to crawl into.

WatchBlog out.
