Week 2 (cont'd)

WatchBlog here (and now Commissioner approved.) Well, just as WatchBlog suggested, after tonight's action, 8 out of 10 CFFFL teams are 1-1. The last two undecided games went down to the wire. Let's get to it.

Lynched

MotherBoy is the highest scoring team in the CFFFL and following a 2011 Championship game appearance, is one of the favorites to win it all this year.  They are also, after week 2, a .500 team.  Of course they have that distinction in common with 80% of the league.  Gary "I should read more WatchBlog" Cook had the points on his roster to win in week 2, but his decision to ride the rookie RB Alfred Morris, rather than trust the veteran RB Marshawn Lynch proved costly - a 1 game in the loss column cost.  The 47ers, on the other hand, had almost no room for error, and with the most point efficient team of the week, just held off MotherBoy for the win.  Jerry "anyone have an idea which CFFFL manager was Puppeteering the Quail Hunters last year?" Cook evens his team record at 1-1, and hopes to avoid the slow start he saw in 2011 when he also started 1-1, and then lost his next 2.  The rest of the league wishes him well.  I mean, what could they possibly have against him?

3rd times a charm

The Quail Hunters and Cow Pokes (formerly PlowBoys) have met in 3 games since 2011, and in the first 2, the Hunters were 2-0.  Norman "I will not waive McGahee for no reason, I repeat, I will not waive McGahee for no reason" Cook had an offensive explosion in week 2 in his effort to change that trend.  The bad news is that all the exploding occurred on the Cow Pokes' bench.  The good news is that the Quail Hunters' actual on-field production was even worse. The Battle of Ineptitude resulted in a Cow Pokes' win and the Quail Hunters' first loss of the young season.  Amanda "Karma? Never heard of it" Cook will hope to get back on the winning track next week when they face the only undefeated team in the CFFFL - the Sugar Gliders. Reportedly, the Sugar Gliders make all their own roster decisions, and have respect for the integrity of the league. Let's hope that catches on.

Week 2

WatchBlog here.  One game is final, but 2 more are decided.  Could have a league full of .500 teams.  Won't know for sure until after Monday Night's action ends.  Let's get to it.

Curse of the Badger

Due to a statistical error in week 1, Easily Offensive's point total was 1 less than it should have been.  They actually benefited from that error when the waiver order was set by moving up 2 places from where they should have been.  In the first 2 weeks, this news is about the only positive manager David "Participant" Cook can point to. Highly favored in week 2 against Honey Badger, the aptly named Offensives couldn't even muster 70 points, and for the second year in a row, will lose in an upset to the Badgers. Andrew "So they play games on Thursdays now?" Cook, who didn't even bother to replace the inactive WR Greg Jennings for his game on Thursday, has already put up 81 points with 2 players yet to hit the field.  Absent each remaining Badger player committing 6 fumbles while gaining no yards, we can officially declare this game DOA.  For the Offensives, consider it a mercy killing.

2 in the Bush

RB Reggie Bush made a huge impact in his NFL game on Sunday, and simultaneously on two CFFFL teams.  Single handedly Bush's absence from Cindy "This year hasn't been nearly as fun as last year" Cook's roster decided the outcome of the sole matchup of Undefeateds in week 2.  The beneficiary of his absence was the sole 2-0 CFFFL team (pending ongoing games,) the newbie Sugar Gliders. The Sugar Gliders are the new Cute Little Puppies, with equal parts "I don't care," "I just want a cute name," and "I'm gonna love rubbing this in." On the losing side, the Left Fielders were looking to shake up their roster after a lackluster win in week 1, and the shake landed Bush on the bench just in time for a career caliber performance.  There's almost no chance Bush will put up those kind of numbers again this year, and so the effort was a truly wasted one.  Said Cindy of the week 2 result:  "Aaaarrggghhh!!!!"  Aaaarrggghhh, indeed.

This Game just got real

Two teams settled in to expectations during week 2 after a surprising week 1.  The Gamers, who weren't expected to do well, shocked the world with a 1-0 start.  The Hottez wit da bodiez, on the other hand, didn't shock anyone, but fell to 0-1 even though possessing a rather salty roster.  Lauren "I answer to no man, especially not before 8" Cook was vastly improved in starting decisions in week 2, and will likely end up with the highest point total for the week in the win over The Gamers.  The best thing that could be said about The Gamers' week was that at least they didn't start 1st round pick Jay Cutler.  Durlon "If the season was 2 weeks long, I'd be in the playoffs!" Bryant has to be regretting that #1 pick now, right?  Well, if he isn't, he should just keep reading WatchBlog, cause it's likely to be an ongoing theme...
