WatchBlog here again. All 5 CFFFL games went final Monday night, and 5 teams have clinched the playoffs and it appears the other 5 have at least a shot at the last playoff spot. Let’s get to it.
The Clinched
5 teams have punched their CFFFL playoff ticket. The Puppies were already in, but ensured a first round BYE in week 12 when they crushed the improving PlowBoys. The Hunters also claimed a BYE, but not because of a win, but only because the Badger knocked off the Cousins for them. The 1st seed will now be determined on the fake field in week 13 when the Puppies and Hunters face off for the first time this season, and the winner takes the top seed. The Cousins (who lost) and Leftovers (who won) will not be battling head to head, but each will be battling to see who plays the #5 seed (the Hottez) and who will face the #6 team (TBD.) Even though the Hottez are the “hottest” team going with a 2 game win streak, they are still the 2nd lowest scoring team in the league, and have a hobbled 1st overall pick, RB Adrian Peterson, and might be considered the most favorable playoff matchup. WatchBlog wouldn’t be surprised if the Cousins and Leftovers actually play week 13 to lose...
The Unclinched
The 6th and final playoff spot is up for grabs, and every team seems to have at least an outside chance at it. The 47ers have the best shot at it, and only need a win to be in. The Lions have the next best shot, and will take it with a win and a 47er loss. It gets really muddy if both teams lose, which will create at least a 3 team tie and likely mean the team with the highest point total would win the tiebreaker and claim the final coveted spot. (Currently highest point total for these 5 teams belongs to 47ers.) This massive logjam was created by 2 dramatic comeback wins on Monday night, when the left for dead Lions over came a 36 point deficit to beat the Offensives with a single, albeit great player. Likewise, the Hottez jumped the 47ers in the playoff race by overcoming 39 points with 3 players, but only 2 who actually scored any points.
