WatchBlog here. Only 1 game in the books, officially anyway. Technically the rest are undecided, so WatchBlog will wait to cover them til after Monday night. Let's get to it.
The Curse of Dez?
When the Cow Pokes cut WR Dez Bryant to pick up TE Fred Davis after week 4, many in the league began muttering that Norman "Jerry Jones" Cook was making crazy moves again, reminiscent of the infamous McGahee Move™ of 2011. Cindy "I have 2 phenomenal WRs and I'm looking for more" Cook likely shared the opinion as she quickly swooped in to make a waiver claim on the talented receiver. On the outside, the move by the Left Fielders' chief looked shrewd given that, since week 4, Davis has put up 10 points in 2 games, and Bryant has put up 21 points in just 1. However, looking behind the numbers, we see that during that same 2 week stretch, the Cow Pokes are 2-0, while the Left Fielders are 0-2. Is Dez Bryant a drag on fantasy locker rooms in the same way he is on real ones? We will have to see. Meanwhile, the Cow Pokes are likely the highest scoring team of week 6, and have secured sole possession of 2nd place in the 5CD, while the Left Fielders could fall to 4th. (In case anyone forgot, McGahee turned out to be a non-factor in 2011 as both teams involved in the McGahee Move™ went 3-4 to end the season.)
Many more exciting finishes coming tomorrow. As always, stay tuned. WatchBlog out.
