Week 6 - Monday in Review

WatchBlog here.  A change at the top, but not at the bottom.  Let's get to it.

All Hail the Queen!

Well, it had to happen sometime.  The Sugar Gliders' improbable winning streak certainly couldn't last forever, and this week the up and coming Princess of the CFFFL was doing battle with the reigning Queen.  Something had to give.  The Hunters were hungry for something besides Quail, and they feasted on Glider meat on Monday night.  Not to say that the game wasn't still in doubt as of Monday, as Shoshana "Wait, other teams are allowed to score more than me, why wasn't I informed of this?" Cook's team held a slim lead going into the last game.  However, Amanda "Maybe I'm controlling my team, maybe not" Cook who only had TE Antonio Gates left to close the gap, was rewarded with the TEs best game of his season, as he not only closed the gap, he built an interstate over it with a season best 20 point output (he had only 14 points the previous 5 games combined.)  Shockingly, not only did the Sugar Gliders lose their claim to sole unbeaten team in the CFFFL, they also lost their first place crown.  Perhaps the Princess will have to wait for her coronation.

You can find just about anything on a T-shirt!

The Royal Badger - Artist Rendering
Speaking of Princesses, the CFFFL has passed the bejeweled tiara to a new member of the Royal Court, none other than Princess Badger.  Yes, without anyone even realizing it was possible, the Honey Badger not only extended their improbable winning streak to 5 games, but they actually have taken over first place in the CFFFL.  Andrew "You just got beat by a Princess" Cook's Badger only holds a slight lead in total points over the Gliders, but any tie still remaining between the 2 will be broken on the fake CFFFL field when the two finally meet in the last game of the regular season.  A Battle Royale, to be sure.  To don this crown, the Badger had to beat another CFFFL foe.  WatchBlog doesn't have to offer too many guesses for you to figure out which one.

Guess who!

Speaking of loser guessing, guess what other CFFFL teams did poorly in week 6.  Did you say the 47ers and Gamers?  If so, then you have an acute grasp of the obvious - either that, or you follow CFFFL scores so closely through the weekend you'd think it was a cardiac patient's heart monitor.  Either way, both the 47ers and Gamers continued losing streaks, both had optimal point totals under 89, both had actual point totals under 75, and both remain out of the playoff hunt.  Oh, and both should probably consider blowing their teams up through trade, if they have anything of value to offer anyone.  The beneficiaries of playing these cellar-dwellers were the Hottez wit da bodiez and MotherBoy.  Lauren "Nope, STILL didn't need my kicker" and Gary "Why did I play Marty B? - Cause I could afford to..." Cook both had an easy time winning in week 6 and are either in or on the verge of a playoff spot.  Where they fit in the playoff picture will change next week when they meet each other in a heavily BYE influenced faceoff.  Will Lauren even have a starting QB?  Well, yes, if Cindy has anything to do with it, then yes - definitely...
