Week 9 - Sunday in Review

WatchBlog here.  No games are officially final, but there is 1 that is decided.  Let's get to it.

What the McGahee?!?

The 2 teams involved in the infamous McGahee Move™ were at it again, but this time through the trade block.  Somehow, Jerry "Snake oil is a valuable product with many uses" Cook of the 47ers convinced Norman "Sure I'm an Eskimo, but this ice they're selling is dirt cheap!" Cook of the Cow Pokes to trade RGIII straight up for Eli Manning.  What the McGahee!?!  Sure, RGIII has started coming back to earth, and sure Eli has won a few non-fantasy Super Bowls, but WatchBlog can't even come up with a plausible explanation as to why this trade was agreed to by the Cow Pokes.  With Aaron Rodgers, they don't need a stud QB sitting on their bench, and they definitely had the right idea about turning that asset on the bench into an asset in the starting lineup - but Eli would just be a worse bench player!  Fortunately, the Commish actually stepped up and did something - anything really - and vetoed the trade.  Only after TE Heath Miller was thrown in for TE Scott Chandler did the trade actually go through.  On the whole, still too little of a package for one of the top tier QBs of fantasy football, but at least Miller will be a help at TE in a starting role. To wrap this up in a nice bow, the two teams then went out and played each other in week 9.  The net gain for the 47ers from the trade was 11 points.  The net loss to the Cow Pokes was less than 1 point.  The Pokes will win by at least 24, so, after 1 week... a lot of McGahee over nothing.

Much more to discuss after the Monday night game.  WatchBlog out.
